Unrepresented
At last nights council meeting (Jan. 18) sadly once again the majority of the voices speaking up had very little impact on the final decision by the town. They sat there and told us that a petition of 2,000 signatures didn’t represent the town. But I guess knocking on 1,000 to 2,000 doors did give Mayor Fudge a good representation of the views of the town. Then we have council member Okrepkie who says if he lived in the area of the development he would be concerned but “I don’t live in that area”. How is this representing the west side of Windsor?
I want to know what it will take to stop a project or have the council speak up and be the voice of the people? I certainly don’t have deep pockets. I don’t have a business that will bring money to our town. I don’t have an attraction that will help make the SMART train a success. I don’t need development insurance or bonds. So, is there something else an average citizen of Windsor can do so she feels like she is being represented?
