Missing package
Editor: Our son and his family live on Town Green in Windsor. Per USPS, on December 16, 2014 at 3:30 p.m. a medium sized box was delivered to their front door. The package was never received by our son, so it was either never delivered or it was stolen from their front porch. USPS is not taking responsibility as their records indicate it was delivered.
We are particularly dismayed by this loss because inside was a Christmas quilted wall hanging which took me almost five weeks to make. The size is 44” high by 55” wide. It is lighted with battery-operated red twinkle lights and has a picture of our grandchildren in the tree star, plus names on the stockings on the fireplace. I want to make people aware that sending packages—no matter the shipper, should require signatures on delivery.

Disregard for the rules
Editor: This letter is in regard to the bike lanes here in Windsor.  Some people just lack common sense. I have seen mothers walking down the bike lane with their child in a stroller. Many times, I have seen joggers also using the bike lane. I have also seen bike riders not using the bike lane, but biking on the sidewalk. There is a total disregard when it comes to bikers stopping at stop signs. I have lost count of the number of bikers who do not stop.  They should all be obeying the rules of the road. Now, a law has been passed that drivers need to give a biker a three-foot distance between their car and the biker. If a driver has to obey the laws…so should bikers.
One question before I end: how many tickets have been given out to bike riders in Windsor because they have broken the law? I’ll bet it is “0” or I am really close. It is just a matter of time before someone is killed. The laws are there for a reason.  People walking in the bike lane, joggers running in the bike lane and bikers not stopping at stop signs need to obey the laws just as drivers of cars do.
