Thanks from Interfaith
Editor: I want to send out thanks to your community of readers
for the wonderful response to our appeal for help for the
Interchurch Pantry of Sebastopol as we struggled to meet the needs
of the hungry in Graton, Occidental, and Sebastopol. We received
upwards of $2,000 from individual donors, $500 from the Sebastopol
Kiwanis Club, another $500 from Evergreen Sebastopol International
Order of Odd Fellows. We are further delighted by the generous gift
of $5,000 from the Semilla Fund of the Community Foundation of
Sonoma. At the time this letter goes to press we have very little
information about the history of the Semilla Fund or the identity
of its donors, other than they have established a great track
record of contributing money to non-profits and local charities
through the Community Foundation, particularly to school projects
and food distribution agencies.
We at the Interchurch Pantry do know that by Aug. 23, we have
received the help we asked for in July and August.
Thank you, West County from all the volunteers of Interchurch
Pantry.
