Editor: We would like to thank the 54 new members of the
National Bone Marrow Donor registry for giving their time and blood
on November 23. This was a great turnout for serious folks to
commit their cells to a leukemia patient in need and we hope there
are 54 people out there just waiting to find you as their match
!
Many thanks to the Good Shepherd Church for use of the facility,
to Rotary Club District 5130, Project Share Life and Sonoma
Children’s Cancer Foundation for covering the processing cost, and
the great staff from the Heart of America who represent the Bone
Marrow Donor Program.
In addition, many people in town were helpful in ensuring the
event was a success, Ray Holley gave us great press, Cosmic copies
provided some free copies of the flyers, and many businesses around
town posted and talked up the event.
So thanks to all of you. In the event you missed our drive and
would still like to join the registry, please call Fran McDermott
at 1-800-366-6711 or email at frncdermogAnmdp.org to obtain a kit
that will allow you to donate at a local blood bank. Thanks again
for helping us to register 54 potential life saving donors.
