Leroy “Lee” Egger died unexpectedly on November 8 from a heart
attack. He was 74 and is survived by his wife of 34 years, Gloria
Egger. He also leaves a brother, Bill Egger of Washington, a sister
Margie Douglas of San Pablo and three children, Michael Egger of
Vallejo, Sonja Opdyke of Hercules and Steven Egger of Concord. He
leaves two step-sons, Mickey and Mark Henderson and four
grandchildren Devin and Samuel Henderson, Dante and Alexis Egger
and his constant companion , Cassie their 12 year old Yorkshire
terrier.
Lee retired from the Alameda Naval Air Base in 1988 where he
worked as a Maintenance Machinist. Lee was Gloria’s assistant in
her Real Estate Business and now Homeowners Association Management
Business.
Up until three years ago Lee and Gloria lived in Pinole and
Hercules and then moved to Gloria’s family ranch in Healdsburg
where Lee began supervising the remodeling project of the old
country home. He enjoyed country living and spending his time
working in his workshop, planting trees and a garden, cutting wood
and tending to his chickens and goats.
Services were held at First Baptist Church at 4555 Hilltop Dr.
in El Sobrante on Wednesday, November 14 at 10:30 AM.
