Applications for the next leadership class are due by June 30
After 17 years of training over 500 Sonoma County leaders on key sustainability issues, the Leadership Institute for Just and Resilient Communities, formerly known as the Leadership Institute for Ecology and the Economy, has joined the Daily Acts Organization in Petaluma.
“The past 16 years we’ve empowered and educated over 57,000 people as sustainability leaders in Sonoma County through collaborative partnerships, Daily Acts is excited to add the Leadership Institute and Fellows Network into our programming, “ said Trathen Heckman, executive director and Daily Acts founder.
Applications are now being accepted for the Fall 2018 class of the 10-month leadership training program which meets once monthly to provide inspiration, skills and support network for leaders to be more effective change agents in their lives, organizations and communities.
Each class is comprised of representatives from government, business, nonprofit and entrepreneurial sectors.
Based on the principle that leadership evolves from the inside out, the carefully selected group of participants develop personal practices of values-aligned leadership, self-assessment tools for regenerative living and skills for how to effectively lead systems level change in communities and organizations.
Through robust discussion with experts, guided self-reflection, tours and project-based learning, each class day examines how to apply the core principles of leadership into such intersecting topics as: Climate Change and Energy; Systems of Inequality; Social and Environmental Health; Water and Natural Resources; Agriculture Food and Fiber; Housing and Land Use; Diversified Economics and more.
Graduates of the program join an engaged network of Fellows, from state and local elected officials, to business innovators and nonprofit organizers, giving access to seasonal social events, opportunities for ongoing education, and more.
Applications are due by June 30. Classes start Friday, September 7 with an evening orientation on August 30, 2018.  For more information visit www.dailyacts.org/leadershipinstitute.
