Larry Lee Johannsen passed away at home in Healdsburg on January
5, 2003 at the age of 63. Born on May 1, 1939 in Hawarden, Iowa, he
served for five years in the U.S. Air Force soon after graduating
from high school. In 1962, he began a 40-year career in the
printing industry. He recently retired after 26 years of employment
at Northwestern Graphics. Larry also owned a small printing company
and was the printer for Daniels Chapel of the Roses and Eggan and
Lance Mortuary for almost 20 years. He was an enthusiastic member
of the Wikiup Racquet Club. His loss is mourned by his wife of
nearly 36 years, Diane Johannsen of Healdsburg, his daughters
Jennifer Allen and Valary (and Roger) Bloom, his grandson Ryan
Bloom of Sacramento, his brothers Richard (and Annis) Johannsen of
Denver, Colorado, and Duane (and Beverly) Johannsen of Salt Lake
City. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. His sense
of humor will be greatly missed by in-laws Brian (and Janice)
Schmidt, and Kay (and Ted) Robinson of Healdsburg. He is also
fondly remembered by Maria Ioli and her family in Middletown. A
memorial service will be held on Friday, January 10, 2003 at Fred
Young & Company, 428 North Cloverdale Boulevard, Cloverdale.
