The Lady Tigers emerged from their first trip around the Sonoma County League circuit unscathed, notching recent lopsided wins over lower division teams Piner and Elsie Allen to retain the top spot in the standings.
At the start of play this week, Analy was all alone in first place with a record of 7-0, one game up on Petaluma (6-1). Rounding out the league pecking order were; Sonoma Valley (4-2), Healdsburg (3-4), El Molino (2-5), Piner (2-5) and Elsie Allen (0-7).
At press time the Tigers (16-3 overall) were prepping for a critical April 26 rematch with visiting Petaluma, a game with huge title implications. Analy will host Sonoma Valley on Thursday, April 28, followed by a home clash with Healdsburg next Tuesday, May 3. All games start at 4 p.m.
The Lions (2-13) are coming off an even split in a pair of SCL outings, pounding Elsie Allen into submission in a 33-2 rout before falling to Petaluma, 15-1. El Mo resumes league action this week with scheduled games against Sonoma Valley on April 26 and at Piner on May 3 (4 p.m.).
Tigers flex muscles
Analy’s recent wins illustrated the disparity among SCL teams, starting with an 11-0 April 19 rout over Piner. The Tigers pushed across five runs in each of the first and fifth innings to force an early stoppage on the ten-run rule.

The April 21 meeting with winless Elsie Allen was also decided early, with Analy jumping on Lobos’ pitching for 15 runs in the first three frames en route to a five-inning, 15-0 romp. Rasmussen (4 IP, 0 hits, 8 Ks) earned the win, while Evangelisti (1 IP, 1 hit, 1 K) also saw mound duty for the Tigers.
