Team on cusp of first-ever league crown
The Lady Jaguars are in full motion as they drive into the end of the winter wrestling season. The recent dual forfeit against Maria Carrillo places them at 6-0 with one week left of the regular season.
The team has also been active on the tournament circuit, earning a third place trophy at the Queen of the Mat Tournament held at Pittsburg High School on January 28. Individual medalists included Ivory Osborn (1st place), Andrea Rocha (4th place), Citlalli Santiago (4th place), Yulisa Medrano (1st place) and Azucena Montesinos (3rd place).
Last weekend the girls earned a second place team trophy at the Ukiah Invitational Tournament. Medalists were Osborn (1st place), Rocha (3rd place), Medrano (1st place), Montesinos (2nd place) and Danitza Garcia (3rd place).
This week, Windsor is focusing on the North Coast Section Tournament in Albany on Feb. 10-11. Three Lady Jags will be seeded in the top eight, including Osborn (7th at 111 pounds), Rocha (5th at 116 pounds) and Medrano (3rd at 143 pounds).
The ladies will wrap up the NBL dual meet schedule on Feb. 8 at Cardinal Newman (6 p.m.).
