Windsor off to 2-1 start
The Windsor High School softball team is off to a solid start in the first month of preseason action, adding an even split in recent outings against American Canyon and Napa to push their record to 2-1.
“Our win over American Canyon was a great game and how I expect us to play this season,” Jags coach Morgan Rasmason reported. “Against Napa, we didn’t play like us—we had three errors—plus two more counted as hits.”
The Lady Jaguars opened the action with a March 12 home tilt with American Canyon, pushing across three runs in the fourth inning. The inning was highlighted by a three-run homer off the bat of Kasandra Jaramillo as the Jags hung on for a 3-1 victory.
Senior hurler Kayla Scott notched the win, while top hitters included Jaramillo (2 for 3, HR, run, 3 RBIs), Scott (2 for 3, run), Gracie Hernandez (1 for 3), Savanna Cordova (1 for 2) and Moana Bullock (1 for 2).
Windsor was back on the home field two days later against Napa, as the Grizzlies broke a 1-1 deadlock with a four-run fifth en route to a 5-2 win.
