Roisin competes at NCS golf qualifier tourney
The Lady Jaguars completed a great fall golf season this week, sending one player to the North Coast Section Qualifier Tournament at Peacock Gap in San Rafael.
Sophomore Roisin Averill earned the individual spot at the NCS tourney after firing a 93 at the North Bay League Tournament held at Oakmont East Golf Club on Oct. 15. On Monday, Averill carded a 118 on the 72-hole Peacock Gap course to highlight her season.
The Jags (5-5), led by head coach Joe Stadum, were perhaps the surprise team in the newly aligned NBL Redwood Division this year, fielding a young and relatively inexperienced squad that played its best in the second half of the season.
Windsor finished second overall at the 18-hole NBL tourney with a collective team score of 516, just one stroke behind co-league champion Cardinal Newman. Rounding out the team scoring was Healdsburg (523). El Molino, Piner and Montgomery failed to field complete teams.
Individual scoring for the Jaguars included Katie Mullins (102), Roisin Averill (93), Alana Stadum (122), Elka Piotter (97), Lauren Runft (112) and Olivia Dyche (112).
