The CHS Lady Eagles basketball program, coming off one of its most successful seasons, combined with the Eagle Pride Boosters Club to present the inaugural Youth Basketball Clinic on June 2 at Cloverdale High School.
The event helped raise money for the ladies’ basketball program to help with travel expenses to their annual Cal State Chico camps as well as the Brookings Oregon tournament.
The clinic was well attended and run by Coach Mac Butler along side a mix of future Eagles, current Eagles and a couple special guest alumni Eagles. Alumni Eagles included Angel Bernardi, a 2016 CHS graduate, who currently plays for Fisher College and 2018 CHS graduate Camryn Figueroa who plays for Dominican University. The staff included basketball Coach Daniel Fernandez and Dominican University men’s basketball player Christian Futch.
The players were taught various fundamentals with competitive drills and game opportunities. There were skill challenges, team concepts and hands on learning. Snacks were provided and awards were presented at the end of the sessions.
Kids of all ages learned the game of basketball in a fun environment with a energized coaching staff that did a wonderful job throughout the day. The Lady Eagles players and coaches would like to thank all those who attended the clinic. The Eagle Pride Boosters Club has added camp photos to their Facebook page for those in attendance and their parents to enjoy.
