Kathleen was born in Freestone to Lawrence Francis Fitzpatrick
and Lavina Beatrice McLain-Fitzpatrick. Kathleen had a long career
as a nurse and hospital administrator, having worked for many
facilities including Sonoma State Hospital. Kathleen attended
Ursuline High School, Santa Rosa Junior College, St. Joseph’s
School of Nursing in San Francisco and San Francisco General.
Kathleen was a lifelong, active parishioner at St. Rose Catholic
Church, and held memberships in Ursuline and St. Joseph’s College
Alumni, California Nursing Association. and the American Legion,
among others. She is survived by her children, Sue Silva, Kathleen
Vanden Berghe, Patrice Rios, William Hail and Mary Lynn Hail, her
brother, Lawrence Fitzpatrick and sister Delores Cottingham. She
was the sister of the late Loren Happ and Jeanne Pisenti. She is
also survived by numerous grand and great-grandchildren, abundant
relatives and friends, including her best friend, Anna Harrigan and
caregivers Kaloraini and Anitelu Seru. She died 19 months after the
death of William E. Hail, her husband of 59 years. Donations in her
