Weather has washed out some qualifying opportunities

On Saturday May 25 Windsor Golf Club held the second qualifying round for the upcoming 2019 North Bay Junior Golf League. Twenty-one juniors teed off in nearly perfect weather, welcome conditions after the past three rounds were cancelled due to rain.
The round of the day was turned in by 11-year-old Grant Wilhelm, who shot 41 from the Red Tees (2,574 yards). Wilhelm birdied #5 and made an eagle on the third hole flying it in the cup from the fairway.
Turning in the second-best round was Nick Savano with a 47 from the White Tees (2,870 yards). Savano’s strategy of avoiding the big numbers has paid off through his first two rounds and is currently ranked #5. Dillon Stefani once again played well with a 48 from the Gold Tees (2,250 yards) and is ranked #3.
The average score for the day was 58, and the average score for all qualifying rounds to date is 57.3. The next qualifying rounds will be held on Tuesday, May 28 and Wednesday, May 29 at 5 p.m. (after press time.)
Juniors can post three scores and the average of their top two scores is used to create the rankings. Twenty-nine juniors will be trying to qualify and Windsor can send eight players to each tournament for the North Bay Junior Golf League.
The North Bay Junior Golf League will kick off on June 18 at Healdsburg Golf Club. This year Windsor will host the North Bay Junior League tournament on Thursday, July 10.
Current rankings through two rounds. Juniors can post maximum of three rounds.
