Having just passed her 75th birthday in July, she passed away at her home of natural causes on September 9. Julia was born in Houston, Texas. In 1970, she packed up everything important to her and moved to San Francisco. She owned a used bookstore, raised English Bull Terriers and rode a 750cc Royal Enfield motorcycle. Since 1974, Julia has been a Sonoma County resident and never considered living anywhere else. Over the years she homesteaded near Annapolis, became a master gardener, and enjoyed a menagerie of animal and human companions. Later years brought her back to residence in Healdsburg, then Cloverdale. Julia was a loving, adventurous, free spirit. She would do anything she could to help someone in need. Julia loved to read, always enjoying a good mystery. She and her bull terrier, Sophie, were frequent visitors at the Healdsburg Dog Park until this last year. Julia leaves behind her daughter, Beth Williams, her grandson, Jason Sachs, and loving and supportive friends that comprised her extended family. A private celebration of life will be held on October 1 in Cloverdale. Email li*******@gm***.com for more information.
