Joseph John Miksis, Sr. passed away on Oct. 28, 200 in his home
in Healdsburg. Born April 28, 1919 in Kenosha, WI, he was 88 years
old. Joseph and Leonette M.Stone were married on Oct. 21,1944 in
Seattle, WA. Joseph was a resident of Healdsburg for the past six
years, and previously lived in Ingleside on the Bay, Texas. He was
a firefighter for 30 years in Kenosha, retiring as a
lieutenant.
Joseph attended Loyola University in Los Angeles and served in
the United States Navy for four years during World War II. He
enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling and oil and acrylic painting.
He will be remembered as a kind, loving and honest husband,
father and grandfather. He was a member of St.John’s Catholic
Church in Healdsburg.
He was predeceased by his parents John and Amelia Miksis. He is
survived by his sons Joseph, Jr. (Inge) of West Hills, CA, Greg
(Joan) of Healdsburg and Gary (Barbara) of Healdsburg; sister
Nellie Renick of Kenosha and nieces Ronalyn of Kenosha; RaEllyn of
Birmingham, AL, and Deborah of Gurnee, IL and nine grandchildren,
John, Stephan, Kohl, Grantt, Hannibal, Teal, Victoria, Leonette,
Jr. and Juliette.
Funeral services are pending. He will be buried at sea. Memorial
donations ma be made to the Healdsburg District Hospital Building
Fund.
