John Robert Butts lifetime as a Cloverdale resident passed away
on Jan. 30, 2008. John was the devoted husband of Tracey Ann Butts
and the loving father of John Michael and Ryan Christopher Butts.
John graduated from Cloverdale High School in 1978. He majored in
electronics at Santa Rosa Junior College where he received his
Associates Degree in 1982. He then moved to San Jose where he
worked as an electronic technician for Watkins & Johnson. In
1989 John married his best friend Tracey Hallman and in 1991 they
returned to make Cloverdale their home and to raise their family.
John took time to enjoy trips with his family to Disneyland, Pismo
Beach and to his sister’s in Fort Jones, as well as numerous
camping, boating, and fishing trips. John’s other hobbies included
automotive mechanics. He built and locally raced his Bomber #71 and
Stock Car #17.
John is survived by, his wife of 19 years, Tracey Butts, his 15
year old son John Butts, and his 13 year old son Ryan Butts, his
mother Evelyn Rutherford and stepfather Ed Rutherford of Napa, his
sisters, Deborah and her husband Tony Kast of Fort Jones, and
Darlene and her husband Steve Eddinger of Healdsburg, his
mother-in-law and father-in-law Romayne and Morris “Dink” Hallman
of Ukiah, brothers-in-law Bobby Stutsman and his wife Sharon of
Cloverdale and Tim Hallman and his wife Jeanette of Redwood Valley,
as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services were held on Saturday, Feb. 2, at the First
Baptist Church in Cloverdale. John was put to rest near his father
at Oak Mound Cemetery in Healdsburg. The family will greatly
appreciate any Memorial Contributions made to the John Butts
Memorial Fund at the Exchange Bank in Cloverdale.
