Windsor to host Summer Shootout girls tourney June 22-23

Summertime means warm weather and trips to the beach for many, but for the Windsor High School basketball programs, June and July also signal the peak of their ambitious summer schedules.
The Lady Jaguars, led by head coach Joe Passalacqua, will highlight their off-season program this weekend when they host the annual Windsor Summer Shootout Tournament on June 22 and 23 in the main gymnasium. Although the list of participating teams had not been finalized at the time of this writing, the tourney is expected to attract five or six local schools, in addition to Fernley High of Nevada.
The tournament will most likely be a round robin format, with each team playing three games. The action kicks off on Saturday, June 22 at 10 a.m. and the last games will be played in the afternoon on Sunday, June 23.
Boys staying busy
The Windsor boys, under the watchful eye of coach Jared Greninger, are also at the height of a busy summer program, holding their annual youth basketball camp this week. In addition to regular weight training and participation in the Santa Rosa Junior College league twice a week, the Jags will compete in several tournaments, highlighted by their own Summer Shootout tourney on July 13-14.
