It’s been a great month on the high school soccer pitch for the Jaguars, who continue to flex their muscles on the preseason pitch.
Windsor’s latest exploits were at the expense of pre-league opponents Casa Grande (3-2) and Maria Carrillo (3-0), pushing its season record to a solid 4-1-1.
This week, the Jags will visit El Molino (Dec. 17, after press time) before coming home to host Roseland University Prep on Thursday, Dec. 20 (6 p.m.). Windsor will travel to Campolindo on Jan. 5 and open the league season on Jan. 9 against visiting Santa Rosa.
On a roll
Windsor paid a visit to Casa Grande in a chilly pre-league clash on Dec. 13, spotting the Gauchos an early 1-0 lead. The Jags evened the score at 1-1 at the half before adding two more after the break on their way to a 3-2 win. Goal scorers for Windsor were Marius Bossard, Juan Silva and Andres Angel, with Silva and Bossard providing assists.
The Jaguars were back in action two nights later against visiting Maria Carrillo, controlling the flow of play from the start in a 3-0 victory. Finding the net for Windsor were Oscar Palmerin (2) and Bossard, with assists going to Dayron Garcia and Bossard.
“It’s been a great start so far,” Jags coach Gerardo Perez said.
Ladies win a pair
The Lady Jaguars notched their first varsity soccer wins of the campaign last week, scoring decisive victories over Napa (6-0) and Dublin (4-0).
Leading the offensive barrage against Napa were goal scorers Amber Balogh (2), Lola Gugel, Isabella Chavez, Hailey Tosti and Emma Corcoran. Assists went to Carmi Dotario, Isabella Chavez, Daniella Chavez and Alyna Gonzales.
It was more of the same in a Dec. 15 trip to Dublin, getting goals from Gugel (2), Dotario and Corcoran en route to a 4-0 rout. Assists went to Bailey Campenella (2), Corcoran and Isabella Chavez. In addition, strong work from goalies Taylor Brogden and Olivia Holdenried made the game a shutout.
Next up for the Lady Jags is a road tournament on Dec. 21-22.
