Big Stick – Travis Broadhead is among a strong core of returning senior players on an improved Windsor varsity baseball squad this season.

Team features 10 varsity returnees
The high school baseball season will kick into high gear this week as the weather warms and fields dry out across the county.
The Jaguars will take full advantage of the sunshine with a busy schedule that features four preseason games in a five-day period, including two on the road and a pair in the friendly confines.
Windsor be back on the field on March 15 (after press time) with a trip to Washington (Fremont), followed by a Friday, March 17 visit to Santa Rosa (4 p.m.). The Jaguars return home to host Alameda on Saturday, March 18 in a 3 p.m. start.
The Jags (1-3) have already logged four games on the pre-league circuit, opening the season with losses to Northgate (5-0), Analy (8-1) and Drake (11-2), but bounced back on Monday, March 13 with their first victory of the season, a 7-6 win over visiting El Molino.
Under returning head coach Corey Sunday, the Jags hope to move up in the North Bay League rankings after posting a 4-10 mark in the NBL last year and 11-13 overall, narrowly missing out on a spot in the North Coast Section playoffs.
Windsor graduated nine players from that team, but returns a strong group of 10 senior veterans that include Kobe Roman, Toli Partida, JT Stadum, Joey Pignataro, Tanner Kane, Anthony Chamberlain, Chris Berndt and Travis Broadhead.  Returning juniors are Patrick Tappin and Travis Carlozzi.
The list of talented first-year varsity players includes Tanner Tobon, Eric Begley, Richard Dreiling, Akeiko Fa’agata-Averbuck, Tyler Hellums, William Leuenberger, Patrick McGee, Jaren Silva and Kevin Winter.
