Jack Herbert Stuart (90) of Meridian, Idaho passed from this life on August 14, 2017. Jack Stuart was born November 17, 1926 (a 4th generation native Californian) to Vernon O. Stuart and Geraldine (Black) Stuart in Santa Barbara, California. He is proceeded in death by both parents, his wife of 53 years Barbara (Bobbie) Stuart in 2000, his second wife Miriam Flanagan Stuart in 2009, daughter Jackie Stuart Walsh (43) in 1992, and daughter Barbara Stuart Piehl Monday (57) in 2012. Jack is survived by daughters Jessie Marbry of Meridian and Geri Mossi of Caldwell.
Jack enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1944 and trained at the Farragut Naval Training Camp in Idaho. It was during his years in the Navy that Jack became a true patriot. He loved his country, God and family. Jack learned the hardwood flooring business from his father. He went into business with his brother Darrell. Together they owned and operated Stuart Floor Co. in Redwood City, CA, the largest hardwood flooring business in the Bay Area.
Jack is most famous in the Treasure Valley as he portrayed Patrick Henry in complete costume reciting his famous speech “Give me Liberty or give me death.”
Jack was a faithful member of the LDS Church and served in many leadership positions.
Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at the LDS Church in Cloverdale.
INTERMENT: Oak Mound Cemetery, 601 Piper St., Healdsburg, California.
