Irene V. Pietropaoli died on July 15, 2007 at the age of 79. 
She is survived by her daughters Cecilia of Healdsburg, and Renata
of Sebastopol, and son Henry and grandson Lewis of Albany, CA. 
She was preceded in death by her husband Remo Pietropaoli. She
moved from the San Francisco Peninsula to Sebastopol in 1978 where
she was the Director of Nursing at Fircrest Convalescent Hospital
in Sebastopol from 1979 to 1986. 
She retired from nursing in 1986 to pursue her numerous artistic
and domestic interests which included needlepoint, stained glass,
gardening, raising farm animals, and rescuing Borzois and
Greyhounds. 
Pietropaoli was renowned for her beautiful stained glass
lampshades and gourmet cooking. 
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Memorial Hospice of
Santa Rosa or the American Cancer Society.  Funeral Services were
held on July 20, 2007 in Colma at the Serbian Cemetery.
