And one of Healdsburg’s storied local patriarchs, John Mignalia, passed away in early March. He was 100 years old. From his obituary: “John was born in Healdsburg, California to John and Sophia Minaglia on August 24, 1923. A 3rd generation rancher and farmer in Healdsburg, John was the 2nd generation to graduate from Healdsburg High School, in 1941. In addition to farming and ranching, John and his late wife Georgia raised six children, and was active in a number of organizations and committees: 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus, Charter Member of the California Prune Bargaining Association, the California Prune Board, the California Prune Marketing Committee, the Sonoma County Grand Jury and the Sonoma County Emergency Services Committee. John was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Georgia.” He leaves behind three generations of progeny. They will hold a rosary, funeral mass and reception for him at St. John’s Church on April 1. (Source: Legacy.com)
