Healdsburg’s Community Housing Committee has a full agenda for its April 30 meeting, which will be held on Monday at 5 p.m. at Healdsburg City Hall.
The Healdsburg City Council recently began talking about whether to ask voters to modify the existing growth management ordinance and the housing committee has been asked to study the current ordinance and policies and offer recommendations to the city council.
Monday’s agenda item reads: “Review, discuss and recommend revisions to Growth Management Policies and Procedures.” It is expected to be a controversial topic with voters, who rejected an attempt to eliminate growth control in 2016.
The housing the committee will also review how city affordable housing funds have been used and make recommendations for future use.
Lastly, the housing committee will discuss accessory dwelling units (ADUs), commonly known as granny units. The city’s “Housing Action Plan” calls on the city to take steps to encourage ADUs, including streamlined permitting and lower fees.
