Show to benefit local youth sports
Hot rods, classics and gear-heads will take center stage this Saturday, Aug. 4 when they converge on the Forestville Youth Park for the second annual Forestville Hot Rod Show and Barbeque.
The event will run from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. with all proceeds going to benefit the park and local youth sports programs that include Little League baseball, soccer, 4H and Boy Scouts, to name a few.
The day’s activities will feature music, a 50/50 raffle and plenty of barbeque fare, including hot dogs, pulled pork sliders, chili, soda/water, all for just $2 each. Admission is free.
Trophies (as voted on by the public) will be awarded in five categories, including Best of Show, Best Engine, Best Hot Rod, Best Low Rider and Best Rat Rod.Â
Hot rod show entry is open to all makes and models and includes a dash plaque, show and shine prize drawing entry (limited to vehicle entrants only). Car entrants must be present at the 3 p.m. drawing to win awards. Same-day registration is $25. Car check-in from 9 to11 a.m.  Â
