CHS varsity softball ace pitcher Teanne Edens fanned a combined 21 batters in a pair of league wins last week.

The Cloverdale High School baseball and softball teams are alive and well this week, as they near the end of their respective league schedules, each approaching the finish line with an eye toward the postseason.
At press time, the defending NCL-1 champion Lady Eagles softballers (10-1, 15-4) were fresh off wins over Fort Bragg (6-1) and St. Helena (10-0), keeping them in a virtual tie with Clear Lake for the top spot in the league standings. Cloverdale has just three games left on the schedule, beginning on May 12 against Lower Lake, followed by a visit to Willits (May 14), and home for Senior Day against Middletown (May 19). All games start at 4 p.m.
The varsity baseball Eagles (9-4, 14-9) were all alone in second place at the start of play this week following an even split in a pair of recent games, combining an 8-4 win over Fort Bragg with an 8-1 setback at St. Helena. Cloverdale will wrap up the league schedule at home on Tuesday, May 19 against Middletown (4 p.m.).
