Sebastopol native Helen Violet De Silva, 88, died on March 1 in
Lancaster. She was born in Sebastopol to the late Mary and Frank
Rose. She was raised in Sebastopol and moved to Tiburon when she
married the late Joseph De Silva. She was married for 48 years and
lived in Ukiah for the last 25 of those years. In 1992, she moved
to Petaluma to live with her sister, the late Victoria Armstrong.
She is survived by her son Richard De Silva and Phylis De Silva,
grandson, Richard De Silva II, and wife Mary, seven great
grandchildren, Richie, Amanda, Jason, Megan, Pierce, Pamela and
Heather, and two great great grandchildren, all of Tehachapi, and
grandson Clifford De Silva of Riverside. Beloved aunt of Betty
Silva and husband Mel of Petaluma. Great aunt of Charleen Champion
of Santa Rosa, Sherry Marincich of Grass Valley, Tammy McCarthy and
Joanne Wolfson, both of Petaluma. She was preceded in death by her
brothers, Edward, George and Albert Rose and grandson Christopher
