A group of five teens who police say were hanging out and drinking alcohol on Grant Street late Monday night, near those warehouses by the fire station, were busted after someone called and said they were “pointing lasers and congregating in the parking lot” of a local business, according to police officials. And they allegedly ended up having some serious weapons in their possession. Here’s what the cops say happened when they arrived at the scene: “While speaking with the 5 individuals, an HPD officer observed a handgun in the bed of a pickup truck that the group was associated with. All individuals were detained, and it was discovered that the handgun was an un-serialized ghost gun with a loaded extended magazine and laser attached. Upon further investigation, an additional loaded magazine was discovered. While searching one of the juveniles, a concealed dirk or dagger was also recovered. The juvenile with the dirk/ dagger was arrested and transported to Sonoma County Juvenile Hall. Bryan Medina (19) of Healdsburg and Jorge Sanchez (18) of Healdsburg were arrested and booked in the Sonoma County Jail.” Police officials added at the end of their announcement: “The Healdsburg Police Department wants to thank the public for their diligence in reporting suspicious behavior, it is because of you that we were able to get a dangerous weapon off the streets.” (Source: Healdsburg Police Department via Facebook)
