PEDESTRIANS BEWARE — A 19-year-old Healdsburg motorist crashed into a wall above Windsor Creek. He was found to be intoxicated, and attempted to flee but was captured.

Failed multiple sobriety tests
According to a statement posted on Facebook from the Windsor Police Department, at around 4 a.m. on June 14, Windsor deputies were dispatched to a single car accident on Old Redwood Highway near the Shell gas station in central Windsor.
Upon arrival deputies found that a car had gone off the roadway and crashed into a concrete/rock wall above Windsor Creek. The driver, identified as Stephen Lang, a 19-year-old Healdsburg resident, was still at the scene and was found to have been driving under the influence of drugs, according to the statement.
According to Windsor Police, after taking and failing “several” field sobriety tests, Lang ran from the scene in an attempt to evade arrest. Deputies eventually captured Lang in the McDonald’s drive-through, where he was placed under arrest and transported to county jail.
One Windsor deputy was injured in the foot chase, but according to the statement, “He will be okay soon enough.”
“This should be another reminder of the dangers of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol,” said the statement. “We are fortunate that no one was seriously injured or killed this time. Always remember that there is absolutely no need nor reason to drive intoxicated, especially during these times of Uber and Lyft.”
