A Healdsburg woman was arrested Monday night after crashing her Jeep Wrangler on Highway 101 with a 7-month-old infant in the vehicle.
According to California Highway Patrol Officer Kerri Post, 38-year-old Stacy Galluzi was driving north on the freeway when she drifted to the right shoulder, grazed the guardrail, veered left across both lanes and hit the concrete barrier in the center of the freeway.
Post said the rear end of Galluzi’s Jeep was sticking out into the fast lane after it stopped. A Toyota Tacoma slowed to avoid the crash and was rear-ended by a Chevrolet Traverse, forcing the Tacoma into Galluzi’s vehicle.
The infant was taken to Memorial Hospital and then airlifted to Oakland Children’s Hospital to be evaluated for abrasions and a possible concussion. Post said none of the adults were injured, that Galluzi was wearing a seatbelt and her infant was in a child restraint seat.
Galluzi was arrested for felony DUI and child endangerment.
