Women’s History Month play
In honor of Women’s History Month, the Sonoma County Library and
Friends of the Library will present a solo piece by Stephanie
Satie, “Coming to America: Transformations.” The one-hour play is a
gallery of women whose lives have been transformed, first by
extraordinary events in their own countries of birth (El Salvador,
Afghanistan, Armenia, Cambodia, Iran, India, former Yugoslavia and
Russia) and then by their response to America. A free performance
will be held at the Windsor Regional Library, 9291 Old Redwood
Highway on Monday, March 21 at 7 p.m. Call 838-1020 for more
information.
Word Box
“Just because the solutions of problems are not visible at any
particular time does not mean that those problems will never be
alleviated – or confined to tolerable dimensions. History has a way
of changing the very terms in which problems operated and of
leaving them, in the end, unsolved, to be sure, yet strangely
deflated of their original meaning and importance.” – M.I.
Abramowitz
