Healthcare Foundation Northern Sonoma County’s board chair, Barbara Grasseschi, presented a check to Healdsburg District Hospital board members in the amount of $2.2 million for the hospital’s purchase of a permanent MRI to serve the residents of northern Sonoma County.
“Our board, volunteers and generous donors have worked for five years to raise more than $6 million to invest in the local hospital’s technology improvements,” said Grasseschi. “This last check of $2.2 million completes the $6 million challenge grant. Of that amount, $3 million was generously given by the Kalmanovitz Charitable Foundation to benefit the healthcare for those who live, work and play in the lovely northern end of our county.”
Healdsburg District Hospital board chair James Nantell thanked the Healthcare Foundation for its many years of support. “Since its inception, the Healthcare Foundation has made possible so many enhancements at the Healdsburg District Hospital.” said Nantell. “This latest gift provides the area’s only wide MRI, which will be a great service to residents and a strong, competitive revenue source to stabilize the hospital.”
The hospital anticipates the new MRI will be operational by early 2018.
The Healthcare Foundation is the only funder exclusively focused on health for those who live, work and play in the northern region of Sonoma County. For more information visit www.healthcarefoundation.net or call 473-0583.
