School districts in both Healdsburg and Geyserville have opened
their kindergarten registration for the 2011-2012 school year
inviting parents to visit their campuses.
Healdsburg Elementary School is actively enrolling students and
has already hosted a parent informational meeting. If you were
unable to attend the meeting, an enrollment packet is available for
pick up in their office, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until
4 p.m.
Healdsburg Elementary School offers three program options for
new students: a traditional kindergarten class, Healdsburg Charter
Kindergarten which currently has a waiting list and KinderPrep- a
program geared toward children that have birthdays in August or
September and will be turning five. Those students will attend
KinderPrep for one year and then move into a traditional
kindergarten class.
“It is not required that the younger students start in
KinderPrep but it is a good option for some children,” said HES
Principal Stephanie Feith.
HES is encouraging parents to enroll students now so that they
can begin planning for the new school year as soon as possible.

applications until April 1 and will hold a lottery on April 14 for
those applications. Students who live in the district can turn in
their applications as late as May and children with siblings
already attending West Side will be given priority.
“We like to keep our families together,” said school office
manager Maggie Haga.

birth certificate with raised seal from the County, the child’s
immunization card and proof of a dental exam. New students must
turn five-years-old on or before December 2, 2010 to be
enrolled.
