Our beloved daughter Gina Emilia Giacomelli went to Heaven freed of pain on December 23, 2021. Gina was born in April of 1984. She was a joy to her family and friends. She fought a hard eleven year battle with breast cancer. Gina was brave, strong, and loved her life. She moved to Fort Jones in beautiful Scott Valley with her family in 1999. She loved the water, mountains, her cattle, dogs, cat, family, and friends very much.

Gina made friends everywhere and loved and cherished those whom touched her life. Gina was beautiful and special inside and out.Gina graduated from Chico State with a Bachelors degree in business administration/accounting. She soon discovered that was not her calling and returned to school and became a Veterinarian Technician. With the encouragement of her friend and mentor, Art Spencer D.V.M, she decided to become a Veterinary.
Gina returned to college in Ashland, Oregon for two years of Pre-Med, all while fighting Cancer. She was accepted to and attended three years of Veterinary School at Saint George University, Grenada, West Indies. She loved living on the island and traveling. She adopted her beloved dog in Grenada and flew back and forth to the U.S. with her on school breaks. Gina was accepted to Oregon State University with a 4.0 GPA at the top of her class for her final clinical year of becoming a veterinary. Unfortunately, she was unable to attend as her illness was taking its toll on her. She may not have finished her final year of schooling but she was our Dr. Gina Giacomelli, D.V.M.
