The Healdsburg Kiwanis Memorial Scholarship Fund, in cooperation with Healdsburg Kiwanis Club has announced the 44th running of the Fitch Mountain Footrace, on Sunday, June 10.
The purpose of the event is to raise scholarship funds for local high school seniors. The run takes place in the heart of Sonoma County wine country. Both 10K and 3K courses begin and end at the historic Healdsburg Plaza. Healdsburg is home to great restaurants, world class wineries and the Russian River.
The course meanders through historic neighborhoods and out around the challenging Fitch Mountain bordering the Russian River.
The 10 kilometer course starts and finishes at the Healdsburg Plaza and goes up and around Fitch Mountain. The course includes uphill, downhill and flat areas around the mountain with views of the Russian River.
The three kilometer course starts and finishes at the Plaza. The course is relatively flat and goes through town.
Fees:
Kids ages 12 and under are free with a paid adult. Youth ages 13 to 17 are $20.
Adults (18 and older) are $40.
Included in the entry fee for youth and adults are a custom shirt and post race refreshments. Kids ages 12 and under have the option to purchase a shirt during the registration process.
Runners are encouraged to pre-register to avoid delays at the start of the event. There are no refunds and the event will take place rain or shine.
First place winners in each category will receive medallions. Age group divisions are: 12 and under, 13-18, 19-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, and 80-plus.
