G. Leroy Irwin died on Sept. 28, 2011 from cancer at the age of
82. He was a descendent of the Pioneer Irwin family (Irwin Lane). A
native of Sonoma County, he attended Hall, Fulton Elementary and
Santa Rosa High Schools. He was a correctional officer, commercial
fisherman, dairyman, and for over 50 years a water well driller.
Irwin Well Drilling is now owned and operated by his son Roy. Irwin
was preceded in death by his son Rodney Irwin. He is survived by
his wife Louise; sons, Jerry, Roy (Cathie), Christie and John;
seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and many other
relatives. The family wishes to thank Sutter Hospice, friends and
family for their support through the past months, especially to
John, Ann, Duncan and Mike. Private services have been held. A
memorial service is pending.
