It will be a full meeting at the April 18 meeting of the Healdsburg Unified School District, with the physical and curricular future of the district up for discussion.
Under the heading of “Student Learning,” a series of reports and discussions show the direction the district hopes to head.
Superintendent Chris Vanden Heuvel will present a report on building equity and community in the schools. Director of Curriculum and Instruction Erin Fender will present an overview of the Math Innovation Design Team and its recommendations as well as English Language Arts and English language Development curriculum for secondary schools. Fender will also present for discussion the annual report on Local Control and Accountability Plan. There will also be the annual report on the Healdsburg Charter school.
Under the heading of “School Business” the board will vote on the 2018-19 school calendar, and receive updates on various construction projects, including what is coming up during the summer of 2018, the track and field project, a new synthetic turf field, the high school gym and locker room renovation, the Healdsburg Elementary school campus lighting and ceiling project, the gym, locker room and STEM building at the junior high and new furniture at the Fitch Mountain Campus.
Under the heading of “Personnel,” the board will consider eliminating certain classified positions, discuss tweaking the accountant/budget analyst job description and the plans for participation by the district in the Future Farmers Country Fair and Twilight Parade.
The next meeting of the Healdsburg Unified School District Board of Trustees is Wednesday, April 18 at 6 p.m. at Healdsburg City Hall, 401 Grove Street.
