Here’s the plan for the Fourth of July fireworks show in town next Thursday, courtesy of Healdsburg City Manager Jeff Kay:

“This year’s display promises to be bigger and brighter than ever before! To ensure everyone’s safety, viewing at the High School sports fields will be unavailable. However, you can still catch the spectacular fireworks from the west side of the Healdsburg High School in the parking lot area, or from various vantage points around town. With most fireworks reaching heights of 200 feet and beyond, find a spot with a clear view of the night sky above the High School.”

The city will start firing off the ’works around 9:30pm, with help from Healdsburg’s local American Legion chapter. Our city manager also notes that Fitch Mountain Elementary will be closed due to construction, and “University Avenue and Sanns Lane will be closed to vehicle traffic and parking to provide additional viewing locations.” See map below. Earlier that same day, another local Independence Day tradition will pack the plaza from 10am to 1pm: the Fourth of July Kids Parade and Duck Dash, hosted by the sunrise chapter of the Healdsburg Rotary Club.

Take it away, Jeff Kay…

“Kids are encouraged to dress up and decorate their bikes, tricycles, and wagons in red, white, and blue. Plus, get ready to groove to live music from Court ‘n’ Disaster, the Russian River Ramblers, and the Healdsburg Community Band. Cool off with some refreshing lemonade and refuel with hot dogs, snow cones, popcorn, and street corn (all free!). Don’t miss the highlight of the day — the Duck Dash Races! Adopt a duck and cheer it on as it races to the finish line.” Learn more on the city website.
