Guerneville native Florence (Ruffino) Reyes, 90, died on Nov. 25
in Santa Rosa. Raised on a ranch in Guerneville, she held the title
of Miss Cazadero in her teens. She graduated from Sweet’s Business
College in Santa Rosa and worked at Memorial Hospital and Exchange
Linen. During her retirement, she volunteered at the Catholic
Daughters, St. Anthony Home for Boys and the Handicapables. She was
famous for her spaghetti and enjoyed gardening and cooking “the
Italian way.” She was preceded in death by three husbands, Alfredo
Fortunati, Ray Rider and Albert Reyes. She is survived by her
children, Fred Fortunati and his wife, Judy, and Allen Fortunati
and his wife, Laurie, her grandchildren Doretta LeCompte, Richard
Boucher, Diane Hammer, Toni DiMaggio and Chris Fortunati and her
great grandchildren, sister Melba Boehme and numerous nieces and
nephews. Donations in her memory can be made to St. Anthony’s
Farm.
