Fire Department usually responds to Windsor House for
medical aid

by BERT WILLIAMS – Staff Writer
The Windsor Fire Department often visits Windsor House as first
responder when an elderly resident needs emergency medical
assistance, but on a recent trip to the home Captain Ron Busch and
Engineer/Fire Fighter Jason Piloni paid the seniors a different
kind of visit.
The residents of Windsor House made a contribution last week to
the Toys for Tots program. The residential care home’s owner, Andy
Mackie, initiated the idea and purchased the toys so that the
residents could participate in the Christmas toy giveaway.
The Fire Department came to Windsor House Dec. 17 to collect the
toys on behalf of the U.S. Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots program.
They came to celebrate the season and to receive the gift of
toys.
The six residents and the two firefighters, along with owner
Mackie, Administrator John Schoonover and Manager Pat Schoonover
had a good time together in Windsor House’s living room.
“We’ll take the toys to the station and play with them first,”
Busch told the donors. “Thank you from the children and also from
us.”
