Big crowds are expected at the the final Tuesday concert on the
Plaza next week when blues legend Charlie Musselwhite takes the
stage, and the city of Healdsburg is gearing up for the
challenge.
“We’re anticipating we will have increased attendance over what
we normally get and we want to ensure we are forward thinking on
this,” said Parks and Recreation Supervisor Elizabeth Haskell.
The city has opened up additional seating on Plaza Street and
Center Street, which will both be closed to traffic, to accommodate
for the extra large crowd.
Haskell said on average she estimates the Tuesday night crowds
to have been between 1,700 and 1,800 people this year.
“It’s been full, but it’s still pretty comfortable,” she
said.
The Parks and Rec department has also released evaluation forms
to gather feedback on this year’s concerts looking for
concert-goers to respond so the city can make improvements for next
year.
The evaluation form asks for feedback regarding types of music,
parking preferences, food and drink purchases and general
comments.
The form can be found online at the city of Healdsburg’s web
site: ci.healdsburg.ca.us.
On Tuesday, Plaza and Center streets will be closed beginning at
4 p.m., when concert-goers can begin setting up chairs and
blankets. Any chairs and blankets left unattended prior to 4 p.m.
will be removed and attendees are asked to leave pets at home.
