Deadlines to file coming up
The legal filing period is now open for those seeking a seat on the Healdsburg City Council. The four-year elected terms of incumbent council members Tom Chambers, Shaun McCaffery and Gary Plass are up this year.
Plass and MaCaffery have stated their intent to run for re-election and Chambers said he is not running again.
In addition, David Hagele, Tim Meinken and Joe Naujokas have requested election filing paperwork from City Hall.
City council members set policy for the community, adopt the city’s annual budget and oversee the Healdsburg City Manager. The city council meets twice a month, with committee assignments and special meetings as well.
For more information, contact Healdsburg City Hall at 431-3317.

Seats are up for election as well in the Alexander Valley, West Side and Geyserville Unified school districts.
In Geyserville, four seats are up, three four-year terms and a two-year term. Anna Felciano has filed papers for the two-year term.
No one has yet filed papers for open seats on the West Side and Alexander Valley school districts.
Elected officials are required to file financial disclosure forms and declare conflicts of interest if they occur. The deadline to file for the Nov. 8 election is 5 p.m. Aug. 12, unless an incumbent decides not to run, in which case it will be extended to Aug. 17.
