FOCHA, Emma M. Focha was born August 14, 1922 to Adolf and
Johanna Olufs of Petaluma. She passed away Feb. 22, 2007. She was
raised in the Liberty District of Petaluma, graduating from Liberty
Elementary and Petaluma High School.
In her youth she loved playing hockey at school and in her later
years watching ice hockey. Emma was a loving mother, homemaker and
generous lady. She always gave 100 percent plus. Emma lost her
battle with cancer after a valiant and courageous fight. In her
life she wore many hats: member of Hessel Church, Hessel Grange,
Pinnocle Club, Past President of VFW Ladies’ Auxillary and Mother’s
Club. She was a 4-H leader for cooking and sewing, school bus
driver for 17 years at Gravenstein Union Elementary School, a
volunteer bus driver for Hessel Church Youth and Choir trips, and a
driver for the Eye Associates of Sebastopol. For several years Emma
and Lloyd traveled throughout the U.S. where they met and worked
with some wonderful Christian people in the Mobile Missionary
Assistants Program.  Emma and Lloyd loved fishing and hunting
trips. Emma is survived by her loving husband of 54 years Lloyd
Focha; four daughters, Jean (Frank) Moreda, Karen (Mike) Bottasso,
Helen (Marv) Augustine, and Elaine (Jim) Mensching; seven
grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret
Smith & Kathleen Collings. She was preceded in death by her
brother Chris Olufs. 
Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation from 9 to 10
a.m. with graveside services starting at 10 a.m. on Feb. 26, 2007
at Pleasant Hills Memorial Park, 1700 Pleasant Hill Rd.,
Sebastopol.
A Memorial Service will be held Feb. 26, 2007 at 11 a.m. at
Hessel Church, 5060 Hessel Ave., Sebastopol. Donations may be made
in Emma’s name to Hessel Church Building Fund or Mt. Gilead Bible
Conference Grounds.
