Elizabeth &#8220Betsy” Stalder Bippart, age 79, passed away
in the early morning of Feb. 5. Betsy, a native of Riverside, was
born on May 28, 1927. She is survived by her husband John and three
children (Carolyn Sundquist, Whidbey Island, WA; Elizabeth
Staedler, Summit, NJ; and Jake Bippart, Orinda), eight
grandchildren, her sister and brother (Sydney Fast, Riverside; and
Don Stalder of Durango, Colorado).
Betsy graduated from The Bishop’s School, La Jolla, attended
UCLA, and graduated from Mills College in 1950 with a degree in
Occupational Therapy. During her internship in New York City she
met and married John Bippart, with whom she celebrated 55 years of
marriage. Betsy’s life centered on family and friends. She was a
loving and devoted mother and grandmother as well as a dedicated
lifelong volunteer.
Betsy and John retired to Healdsburg in 1991 where they lived
until 2005. Betsy was immediately attracted to the Healdsburg
Museum. She served on the Board of Directors and organized what
today are the Museum Volunteer Association and The Instant Wine
Cellar, a fundraiser.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday Feb. 10 at
Spring Lake Village Chapel, Santa Rosa. No flowers please.
Contributions to Summit SVA Hospice (Santa Rosa) or the Healdsburg
Museum Endowment would be appreciated.
