El Molino High School track and field athletes got off to a fast start at the 24th annual Big Cat Invitational meet hosted by Santa Rosa on Saturday, March 5, an event that serves as the unofficial start to the spring campaign.
This year, some 900 participating athletes from all over the Bay Area weathered rainy conditions, setting the stage for large heats and a great day of competition.
Leading the way for the Lions varsity boys and girls squads were senior distance specialist Brian Schulz, and junior hurdler Abrianna Tait, each capturing second place overall in the 1,600 Meter and 300 Meter Intermediate Hurdles events respectively.
This Saturday, March 12, both El Molino and Analy will compete at the annual Windsor Relays. The meet starts at 9 a.m.
