It was a mixed bag on the high school baseball circuit for Analy and El Molino varsity teams this week, with each logging one win in two outings.
The Lions (10-4, 4-1) fell from the unbeated ranks of the Sonoma County League, following up a 2-1 win over Healdsburg on April 10 with a disappointing 8-3 loss at Petaluma on Friday.  At press time the Lions were still tied for first place in the SCL with Piner at 4-1, a game up on second place Petaluma (3-1).
At press time El Molino was prepping for an April 17 visit to Analy, before traveling to take on Elsie Allen next Tuesday, April 24, 4 p.m.).
The Tigers (7-6, 1-3) also come off an even split in a pair of road games, combining a 6-1 loss to Petaluma with a 4-2 win over Santa Rosa. This week, Analy will host the first of two “Apple” games with the Lions before visiting Elsie Allen this Friday, April 20 (4 p.m.).
Lions notch win    
The Lions paid Healdsburg a visit in an April 10 clash at Recreation Park, pushing across solo runs in the first and third innings while a stable of pitchers held off every threat en route to a 2-1 victory.
Jack Belli (2 IP, 0 runs, 1 hit, 4 Ks) earned the win, while Bradley Swinney (2 IP, 1 hit, 0 runs, 1 K), Jordan Hamner (1 IP, 1 hit, 1 ER, 1 K) and Patrick Atkinson (2 IP, 3 hits, 0 runs, 2 Ks) all logged mound duty.  Leading hitters were Sam Wilson-Mietz (2 for 4, run), Jordan Hamner (1 for 2, run), Wesley Hamner (1 for 4), Wyatt Stringfellow (1 for 3), Andy Junge (1 for 3) and Curt Lewis (1 for 1).  
The much-anticipated showdown with league contender Petaluma on April 13 did not go as planned from an El Mo standpoint, as the Trojans padded a 2-1 lead with three runs in the fourth and a pair in the sixth in an 8-3 victory.
Belli (3.1 IP, 7 hits, 3 ERs) took the loss, while Swinney (1.1 IP, 2 hits, 2 ERs, 1 K) and Atkinson (1.1 IP, 2 hits, 1 ER, 1 K) pitched in relief. Wes Hamner paced the El Mo offense with two hits, including a double and an RBI.
Tigers beat Panthers
Analy suffered a similar fate in its April 10 visit to Petaluma, finding hits hard to come by off Trojans’ pitcher Nick Andrakin in a 6-1 loss. Tyler Stasiowski (5 IP, 8 hits, 4 ERs, 4 Ks) took the loss while Thomas O’Brien worked one scoreless inning for the Tigers. Top hitters were Alex Leopard (1 for 3, 2B, run), Julian Marcel (1 for 2) and Luke Tollini (1 for 3, RBI).
Analy traveled to Santa Rosa in a non-league clash on Saturday, as pitchers Luke Bertling (3 IP, 2 hits, 1 ER, 3 Ks) and O’Brien (4 IP, 2 hits, 0 runs, 2 Ks) combined on a four-hit gem in a 4-2 Tigers victory. Leading the hitting corps were Jeff Pearson (2 for 3, 2B, 2 RBIs), Evan Alvarez (1 for 2) and Tollini (1 for 4, run).
