Cloverdale pushes record to 10-1 with flurry of wins
Excitement is back for the Cloverdale High School varsity volleyball team, as the Eagles continue their best start in years.
The Eagles, who posted a modest 5-14 overall record in 2016, improved to 10-1 and 2-0 in league last week with wins over Willits and St. Helena. Cloverdale’s lone setback of the season came on Monday in a non-league loss at St. Vincent.
On Saturday, the ladies went 4-0 on the day to take first place at the Calistoga Tournament, notching wins over Round Valley, Laytonville, Salesian and Calistoga.
Cloverdale resumed league play on Sept. 19 (after press time) at Middletown and will return home to face Lower Lake on Thursday, Sept. 21. The varsity match starts at 6 p.m.
