John Janey, left, Garrett Roux and Logan Tate help put up the fencing for the Cloverdale Eagle Pride Booster Club’s Christmas tree lot. The lot opens this Friday on the vacant lot just north of Cloverdale Ace Hardware.

The Cloverdale Eagle Pride Booster Club is opening their Christmas tree lot this week on Friday, Nov. 29. This is the second year that the club has operated the lot, taking it over from the Cloverdale Lions Club last year. The club financially supports Cloverdale student athletes from seventh grade through high school. The lot is located just north of Cloverdale Ace Hardware.
The fencing and electrical work was completed the weekend of Nov. 16 with student athletes doing much of the work assisted by Randy Hibbeln, who did the electrical work and Andersen Excavating digging the post holes. This year the club will be operating out of a large metal container donated by Bill Rege, rather than tents which blew over due to the wind several times last year. Staffers will be dry regardless of the weather.
The lot will be open from Thursday through Sunday. The hours on Thursday and Friday are 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday the hours are noon to 5 p.m. They will have more trees this year, both Noble Firs and Douglas Firs. Prices start at $19.99 and there is free local delivery.
Stop by, check out the selection and get your tree while supporting local student athletes and their sporting programs at the same time.
