Donald Stanley Blank died Jan. 16, 2008. He was 71. He was the
father of of Brett (Lynn) Blank, Troy (Evie) Blank, Monique (Greg)
Lenney; loving grandfather to James, Ashley and Brandon Blank,
Chante and Ty (Pottle) Condit, Alicia and Michaella Blank, Joshua
and Abigail Rose Lenney, Brittany and Devyn Bartels.
Also surviving are brothers Charles “Ed” Blank and George “Dick”
(Marsha) Blank; and sisiter Marlene (George).
He was preceded in death by his parents, L.S. “Chub” and Pauline
Blank; former wife and friend Chris (Condit) Blank; daughter
Kimberly Blank; and grandson Jacob Lenney.
Blank was born in Sebastopol on Nov. 6, 1936 and attended
Sebastopol schools and graduated from Analy High School in 1955. He
enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and he attended Santa Rosa Junior
College, playing football while earning his degree and graduated
with the first graduating class of the police academy.
He went on to work for the City of Santa Rosa Police Deptartment
and also was a coach and spokesperson for Guanella Brothers
Softball Team. For a time he worked as a commercial crab fisherman
from Bodega Bay.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008 at 12
noon at the Daniels Chapel of the Roses, 1225 Sonoma Avenue, Santa
Rosa.
Friends and Family are invited to attend a visitation on Friday
Jan. 25, 2008 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Daniels Chapel of the
Roses.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Don Blank are
preferred to the Cardinal Newman High School Boys Athletic
Department, 50 Ursuline Road, Santa Rosa, CA 95403 or to Montgomery
High School Boys Athletic Programs, Attn: Dean Haskins, 1250 Hahman
Drive, Santa Rosa, CA 95405.
