During the stormy winter weather earlier this month — on Saturday, March 9, in Healdsburg — two dogs reportedly had to be rescued from the Russian River’s swift waters by a crew from North Bay Animal Services, a nonprofit shelter down in Petaluma. “Rascal and Remi are two lucky dogs!” org leaders posted on Facebook. “Our animal control officers received a call for two Golden Retrievers stuck in the Russian River in the City of Healdsburg. The water current was so strong, the owners were not able to get to them. With the help of our Animal Control Officers, Rascal and Remy are now warm and happy to be back with their owners! Thank you to all the bystanders who stopped to help! We love happy endings!” (Source: North Bay Animal Services via Facebook)
